WHAT IS R U OK? DAY
A conversation could change a life
R U OK? started in Australia as a national day to remind us that any day is a good day to check in on the people we care about.
It is built on a very simple idea: asking "Are you OK?" and truly listening can help someone who is going through a tough time. You don't need to be an expert to reach out, just showing that you care can make a huge difference.
Now, we are bringing this movement from Sydney to Hong Kong for the very first time. Together, let's start the conversation and support one another.
HONG KONG COMMUNITY VOICES
Meet Our Host & Speakers
Four voices from Sydney and Hong Kong, each bringing a different lens to what it means to connect, engage, thrive and learn.
CONNECT
ANNIEWHO
Founder, EmpowHER Sydney
Executive Producer and Founder, Anniewho Productions
Annie founded EmpowHER Sydney to give women a genuinely safe space — somewhere to talk openly about mental health, lift each other up, and share real stories without judgment.
Her drive comes from a deep care for people who suffer in silence, particularly around domestic violence and the stigma that keeps people from asking for help.
Outside EmpowHER, Annie's career bridges East and West: raised and educated in Sydney with roots in Hong Kong, she has spent over 20 years building brands and producing media across Australia, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Ireland and Switzerland as Founder of Anniewho Productions Ltd — work recognised by Bloomberg Asia, the Wall Street Journal, SCMP, and a 40 Under 40 award.

It's Okay to Not Be Okay

TOGETHER,
WE SHOWED UP IN SYDNEY
Highlights from Community Mental Health Day
For a few hours, a room full of strangers became a community — sharing honest stories, sitting in stillness together, cheering each other on, and reminding one another that it's okay to not be okay.
None of it would have happened without our volunteers, speakers and the EmpowHER crew working quietly behind the scenes, and the sponsors and supporters who believed in this day.
To everyone who walked through the door — thank you for showing up for yourself, and for each other.
